On 5th May 2021 we held our third ELSA Workshop on Metagenomics and related techniques.
It showcased 10 outstanding research talks from PhD students and postdocs from UEA, the Earlham Institute, the Quadrum Institute and the John Innes Centre. The research topics on offer ranged from plant-microbe interactions, animal microbiomes, biogeochemical cycles through to bioinformatics methods and metagenome pipelines and demonstrated the depth and breadth of research in this area going on across the Norwich Research Park. Our invited Plenary Speaker for this event, which was attended by around 80 participants, was Dr. Ashley Shade from Michigan State University who gave a fascinating presentation on the phyllosphere microbiomes of perennial crops.
